2. What Data We Collect and Why
We collect analytics data solely to understand how visitors interact with this site, improve our services, and identify potential clients. We do not use cookies. The following data is collected only after you provide explicit consent:
2.1 Analytics data (upon consent)
We use Umami Analytics, a privacy-first, cookieless analytics platform. No personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking, and no IP addresses are stored. The following data is collected only after you provide explicit consent:
- Page URL and referrer — which page you visited and where you came from.
- UTM / tracking parameters — campaign tags present in the URL (e.g.
utm_source,ref). - Browser, OS, and device type — derived from the user agent string; stored in aggregate, not linked to any individual.
- Country — derived from your IP address at the time of the request; the IP address itself is never stored.
- Interaction events — which page sections you scrolled to, CTA elements you hovered or clicked, and whether you engaged with the contact form (touch, submit, or abandonment). Event names and properties are anonymized; no form field values are transmitted.
2.2 Contact form data
If you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, company name, and message. This data is processed by Netlify Forms and used solely to respond to your inquiry.
3. Legal Basis (GDPR)
Analytics data (section 2.1) is processed on the basis of your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 7).
Contact form data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — specifically, responding to a business inquiry you initiated.
4. Third-Party Processors
Your data may be transmitted to the following third-party services:
| Service | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Netlify | Website hosting and form processing | All data passing through the site |
| Umami | Cookieless analytics and event tracking (upon consent) | Page URL, referrer, browser/OS/device type, country (IP not stored), interaction events |
| Cloudflare | Web analytics (cookieless, aggregate only) | Anonymized traffic data |
5. Data Retention
- Umami analytics data: retained per Umami's standard data retention policy. Because no personal identifiers are stored, individual deletion requests cannot be fulfilled for analytics data, but no data can be linked back to you.
- Contact form submissions: retained as long as reasonably necessary to handle your inquiry.
6. Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights:
- Right of access (Art. 15) — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16) — request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17) — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Right to restriction (Art. 18) — request that we limit the processing of your data.
- Right to data portability (Art. 20) — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object (Art. 21) — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3)) — withdraw your analytics consent at any time (see section 7).
- Right to lodge a complaint — you may contact the supervisory authority in your EU member state.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@rusticit.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Withdrawing Consent
You can withdraw your analytics consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site, or by clicking the button below. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
8. International Data Transfers
RusticIT LLC is based in the United States. By using this site and consenting to analytics, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our third-party processors operate. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards under Chapter V of the GDPR.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of this site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
